Tonight, a new rumor has arisen that Caitlin Thorburn, credited for KOS-MOS, T-Elos, and Nim in Xenoblade Chronicles 2, has updated her Spotlight profile to include a Xenoblade Chronicles game listed for release in 2026.
This rumor originated on Weibo, where a user posted the below screenshot of Thorburn’s profile, and it then spread to both Famiboards and r/GamingLeaksAndRumors. Considering Thorburn’s roles in Xenoblade Chronicles 2, it’s possible that a Definitive Edition is set to release on Nintendo Switch 2. She specifically lists KOS-MOS in this 2026 release.
There has been much fan speculation that Monolith Soft may turn its attention toward its first Switch game, as both Xenoblade Chronicles and Xenoblade Chronicles X have received a Definitive Edition release. As of now, none of the Xenoblade Chronicles games have support for higher frame rates or resolutions on Nintendo Switch 2. Beyond a rerelease of XC2, it’s even possible that Thorburn is recording for a new Xenoblade Chronicles game entirely. Perhaps it’s time for Xenoblade Chronicles 4.
This would not be the first time a voice actor unintentionally leaked a new Xenoblade Chronicles game. In 2021, Jenna Coleman, voice actress of Melia, revealed to a fan that another game was coming soon, which turned out to be Xenoblade Chronicles 3. We’ll have to wait and see if this ends up being true, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated on this development.
