The staff of the upcoming anime adaptation of Atamoto’s Tanuki to Kitsune (Raccoon Dog and Fox) manga revealed a new promotional video. The video reveals the anime’s cast members and confirms the anime’s October 4 release date.
The cast members include:
- Misaki Kuno as Tanuki
- Nao Tōyama as Kitsune
- Toshiyuki Morikawa as Ōkami
- Maria Naganawa as Usagi and Narrator
- Takuma Nagatsuka as Kuma and Usagi
So far, the confirmed staff includes Tommy Hino, who will direct the anime at Akatsuki Media Studio, and Rika Kihara, who will handle the series scripts. Previously, a series of web anime shorts debuted in February 2018. The new anime will commemorate the original series’ 10-year anniversary. Atamoto started publishing the Tanuki to Kitsune manga on X (formerly Twitter), and Frontier Works releases the manga in print. The franchise has already inspired a wide variety of merchandise, as well as stamps. The manga’s 10 volumes and three picture book volumes have more than 1.3 million copies in circulation. The second volume of a new manga series titled Tanuki to Kitsune Yurutto will ship on October 15.
