Spyro: A Realm Beyond Announced, Releases in Spring 2027

Xbox and Toys for Bob have finally announced the next entry in the Spyro franchise, titled Spyro: A Realm Beyond. It will release for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC in 2027. 

The new entry seems to take the series back to its platforming roots. The trailer’s description provides more details about the release:

Take flight on a brand-new adventure through a strange and wondrous realm. When Spyro finds himself stranded, his journey to discover a way home is interrupted by the arrival of a vicious invading force known as the Scavs. Spyro must make new allies and rise to protect this realm before it’s changed forever. Feel the freedom of flight as you soar above vibrant landscapes, weave between treetops, dive off massive landmarks and wing your way through this new realm in Spyro ’s boldest evolution yet. Carve your path through the skies and chain together dives, climbs and tight turns as you navigate the world your way. Insomniac and PlayStation released the first Spyro in 1998 for the original PlayStation. Over the years, several sequels, spin-offs, and reboots have made the franchise a classic among fans. In 2019, Activision and Toys For Bob released a collection of the first three games called the Reignited Trilogy. The trilogy is available now on all consoles. Recently, the game passed 10 million sales. Lastly, Spyro Reignited Trilogy is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. 

UPDATE:

A new Xbox Wire post has revealed more details about the upcoming game. It reveals that Tom Kenny will reprise his role as Spyro and that the gameplay focuses on Spyro having the ability to freely fly anywhere for the first time ever. In an Xbox Wire post, Toys for Bob outlines this new change: “…I can tell you that our biggest ambition in Spyro: A Realm Beyond is to give the player the freedom and fantasy of dragon flight – to be able to take the skies at a moment’s notice and make interesting and active decisions to flow through the spaces as you charge on the ground and now soar through the air. This is such a significant addition to the game, and we’ve built a whole world around that promise.”

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II Sequel Senua Announced for 2027

The next game in Ninja Theory’s Hellblade franchise, Senua, has been announced at the Xbox Games Showcase 2026. It will release in 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse Launches on October 15

Konami, Evil Empire and Motion Twin have announced that Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse launches on October 15 for  PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. The release date and pre-order information for the Nintendo Switch version of Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse will be announced at a later date, according to Konami on X (formerly Twitter).

Previously, Konami released a special message celebrating the 40th anniversary of Castlevania, confirming that the game is “the beginning of numerous new projects” for the series.

Persona 6 Has Finally Been Unveiled

ATLUS has finally unveiled the next mainline entry in the Persona franchise: Persona 6, which will release at an unknown date. The first teaser trailer has also released. 

The first trailer showcases the dark atmosphere that fans can expect from the new entry, as it showcases a Graveyard and a mystery protagonist. The description outlines the game: “The highly anticipated next chapter of the iconic RPG series delivers a bold, new standalone story blending heartfelt daily life and new characters with pulse-pounding, supernatural adventure. Whether it’s your first Persona game or you’ve been here since the beginning, this one’s for you.”

In the meantime, players can look forward to the release of Persona 4 Revival, which will release on February 18, 2027. NetEase Games and Everstone Studio have announced that free-to-play open-world adventure RPG Where Winds Meet will be available for Xbox Series X|S today. In addition to the Xbox Series X|S release, the new Hidden Mountain expansion is coming soon for Where Winds Meet, and a new trailer was released.

Where Winds Meet is available now for Android, iOS, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store worldwide. The Android and iOS versions of Where Winds Meet feature cross-saves and cross-play with the PC and PlayStation 5 versions.

Minecraft Dungeons II Releases on September 29

Mojang has announced that Minecraft Dungeons II will release on September 29 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and Windows. A new trailer has also released. 

The new trailer shows off the gameplay for the upcoming new entry, which is available now to pre-order for $29.99. Those who order it early can get two hero skins, a twisted cape, and a twisted chicken pet. The deluxe edition, which costs $49.99, includes the Soul cape, Blub pet, 4 hero skins, and DLC 1 & 2 upon release. Check out the latest trailer for Minecraft Dungeons II below:

Crazy Taxi: World Tour Announced, Releases in 2027

SEGA has announced the next entry in the Crazy Taxi franchise, titled Crazy Taxi: World Tour, whcih will release in 2027 for Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The first trailer also released during the ongoing Xbox Games Showcase.

The trailer shows off the gameplay of the new Crazy Taxi. It features the series’ trademark frenetic action, with a brand new coat of paint. Additionally, according to a press release, series creator Kenji Kanno will direct the new entry. The game will feature new maps and missions, multiplayer modes, a classic arcade mode, numerous customization options, and more. Check out the first trailer for Crazy Taxi: World Tour below:

DOOM: The Dark Ages DLC

Bethesda and id Software have officially unveiled the campaign DLC for DOOM: The Dark Ages, titled Revelations, which will release on July 7. It will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

The campaign DLC will feature the return of the Khan Maykr from Doom Eternal, new weapons, flashback sequences from the Doom Slayer’s past, and of course, new demons to rip and tear into. Check out the announcement trailer for DOOM: The Dark Ages — Revelations below:
