Xbox’s Project xCloud finally coming to iOS devices

Ever since it released on Android devices last year, Project xCloud has been a major hit among Xbox fans. Allowing users to play certain games on their mobile device wherever they have a WiFi connection, the program has been testing very positively – and it’s about to get a lot more widespread.

In a tweet earlier today, Larry Hryb (@majornelson) announced that Project xCloud signups for iOS device users have opened up:

I myself have already signed up and can confirm that it’ll be a while before iPhone and iPad users can play, with the confirmation email stating that Xbox will reach out in a month’s time to confirm whether or not users have been chosen to test this first launch. Keep in mind that it is a selective beta launch, meaning not everyone will get a shot in this first wave.

Story

The Kingdom of Fantasinia, located in the center of the continental world.

Time of peace and prosperity continued for many years under the Holy Sword and a wise king, but this was not meant to last forever…

The end came so suddenly…

During the rule of Ordene, 31st monarch of Fantasinia, the New Bronquian Empire invaded.

The Royal Army mustered its cavalry to resist the incursion, but with loss after loss to the Imperial Army’s devastating offensive, the fortress of Karona fell.

Nothing could stop Bronquia from sacking the Royal Capital of Paltina.

Gulcasa, the Emperor of Carnage, has deposed his predecessor by force and became the new emperor of Bronquia.

Emperor Gulcasa personally led his elite troops into Castle Paltina, where after an earthshaking battle, he slew King Ordene.

With that, Paltina fell, and the scarlet Imperial flag was raised to flutter in the twilight sky…

During the turmoil, there was a single girl that was able to escape from the fallen Paltina.

She was young and innocent-looking, but in her hands, she clutched a sword: the Holy Sword “Gran Centurio” that is passed from monarch to monarch, through the generations of Fantasinian rulers…

This was the legendary sword said to have been used by the great hero who first established the kingdom and cultivated the land.

The girl’s name is Yggdra Yuril Artwaltz.

With the kingdom’s last hope in her hands, she finally reaches the southernmost region of the continent.

There she meets the bandit king Milanor, and with him, the battle to liberate Yggdra’s homeland unfolds…

JAEPO 2020 News Roundup: Marvelous and Wacca

This year, Final Weapon had the chance to go and cover the Japanese Arcade and Amusement Expo in Chiba, Japan to see all of the newest arcade games being released onto the market in 2020 and beyond.
As with every year at JAEPO, most of the news comes from 4 or 5 major companies. This article will be covering news from Marvelous’s booth at JAEPO.

Marvelous was really showing off one major game this year, that being their new music game Wacca, a collaborative effort with the doujin hardcore label “Hardcore Tano*C”

Marvelous did announce a collaboration with Virtual Youtuber group HoloLive in a new event which will add in 3 new songs and some new profile portraits which are unlocked through the level up system. More new songs were also announced for future updates.

I had a chance to quickly talk to Marvelous at the booth and ask them a few questions surrounding the Wacca S update, specifically if it would be coming overseas. To that Marvelous confirmed that cabinets in America will be getting the Wacca S update. They also stated that at some point in the future they do want to try and release Wacca in even more countries but as of right now they are focused on building up the games content and support.

That wraps up the last of the announcements for JAEPO 2020. Stay tuned to Final Weapon for more Japanese gaming news and we hope to come to you next year with JAEPO 2021.

JAEPO 2020 News Roundup: Taito

This year, Final Weapon had the chance to go and cover the Japanese Arcade and Amusement Expo in Chiba, Japan to see all of the newest arcade games being released onto the market in 2020 and beyond.
As with every year at JAEPO, most of the news comes from 4 or 5 major companies. This article will be covering news from Taito’s booth at JAEPO.

Taito had a lot going on at its booth this year. In particular they were showing off their new redemption game based on the Dragon Quest series being aimed at Japanese arcades and Pachinko Parlors.

Taito was also showing off their new rhythm game, Tetote Connect, which at JAEPO was announced to have Vocaloid songs crossing over into it upon release. The game was on location test at the Taito booth and while I didn’t get a chance to play it, it seemed to be incredibly popular.

A new Space Invaders redemption title was also being showcased at the Taito booth along with their currently released Gun Arena cabinet. These both also seemed to be pretty popular with expo goers. The Space Invaders game will most likely be seeing a worldwide release but this isn’t confirmed. However considering previous Space Invaders based redemption games have been doing well in western arcades I wouldn’t be surprised if we see it crop up overseas soon.

That wraps up most of the major announcements for Taito this year. Stay tuned to Final Weapon for more news on JAEPO 2020.
