Hunter x Hunter Manga is Going on Indefinite Hiatus

    Hunter x Hunter manga

In Weekly Shonen Jump, a notice for the Hunter x Hunter manga series confirms that it will go on an indefinite hiatus after the release of chapter 410, according to Ryokutya2089. Final Weapon staff writer and translator Ryuji spotted and verified the news.

The indefinite hiatus for Hunter x Hunter is likely due to the health of manga creator Yoshihiro Togashi. On November 28, Togashi stated that he has recently undergone surgery and was recovering. He has also drafted two new chapters of the series’ manga, which was likely chapters 409 and 410 at that time.

Hunter x Hunter chapter 410 will release on Sunday, December 8, at 10:00 a.m. EST. Fans around the world may read the new chapter in English on Manga Plus and VIZ Media.

The Hunter x Hunter series re-entered serialization on October 7. Before that, the Hunter x Hunter manga had gone on hiatus again after Togashi reported health issues, leading to his surgery.

The next major Hunter x Hunter project is the upcoming fighting game, Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact. The game will release on the PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam in 2025.

Lastly, here’s an overview of the manga series:

Gon might be a country boy, but he has high aspirations. Despite his Aunt Mito’s protests, Gon decides to follow in his father’s footsteps and become a legendary Hunter. The Hunter hopefuls begin their journey by storm-tossed ship, where Gon meets Leorio and Kurapika, the only other applicants who aren’t devastated by bouts of seasickness. Having survived the terrors of the high seas, Gon and his companions now have to prove their worth in a variety of tests in order to find the elusive Exam Hall. And once they get there, will they ever leave alive…?
