Honō no Tōkyūjo: Dodge Danko Anime Premieres in July 2026

During NBC Universal’s AnimeJapan 2026 panel, the staff for the upcoming Honō no Tōkyūjo: Dodge Danko anime confirmed that it will premiere in July 2026. New cast members for the series have also been unveiled. 

The cast of the anime includes:

Noriko Hidaka, who voiced Danpei Ichigeki in the original Honō no Tōkyūji Dodge Danpei anime, will reprise his role as Danpei. Hiroshi Ikehata, known for his work on TONIKAWA: Over The Moon For You, is directing the anime at CUE. Kazuho Hyōdō is in charge of series scripts, and Narihito Sekikawa is designing the characters and also serving as the chief animation director.

Tetsuhiro Koshita’s Honō no Tōkyūji Dodge Danpei manga was published in Shogakukan’s Monthly CoroCoro Comic magazine from 1989 to 1995. The manga produced 18 volumes. It also got an anime series that aired from 1991 to 1992 for 47 episodes. The Honō no Tōkyūjo: Dodge Danko sequel made its debut on the Weekly CoroCoro Comic website in November 2022. Shogakukan just published the fifth volume in January and will release the sixth volume on August 28.

The original manga focused on the journey of Danpei. However, the sequel will follow the adventures of Danpei’s daughter as she sets out to create the strongest team and keep her father’s legacy alive.

CLAMP initially wrote the Magic Knight Rayearth manga in 1993 in Kodansha’s Nakayoshi magazine. The series would continue until 1996, and six volumes were released. An anime adaptation would premiere in October 1994 and run until November 1995. A three-episode OVA was released in 1997.

Hikaru Shidou, Umi Ryuuzaki, and Fuu Hououji are strangers brought together by fate when they meet during a seemingly normal field trip to Tokyo Tower. Accompanied by a great flash of light, they hear a mysterious woman’s plea to save “Cephiro,” and the junior high heroines are suddenly swept away by a giant flying fish. Afterwards, they arrive in an unknown land, where they encounter a man called Master Mage Clef.

Clef informs the girls that they were summoned by Princess Emeraude to fulfill their destinies as Magic Knights, restoring peace and balance in Cephiro. The formerly lively and peaceful land has been in disarray ever since High Priest Zagato imprisoned the princess, who acted as Cephiro’s pillar of stability. The Magic Knights reluctantly accept Clef’s words as truth and embark on a journey to save Cephiro from the clutches of evil.

Kadokawa has announced Saga of Tanya the Evil II, the second season of the TV anime adaptation of Carlo Zen and Shinobu Shinotsuki’s light novel series, will premiere in July 2026. A new promotional video and key visual were revealed, along with staff and cast members.

Takayuki Yamamoto is the new director of Saga of Tanya the Evil II at studio NUT. Kenta Ihara returns to write and oversee the series scripts. Yuji Hosogoe returns as the character designer and chief animation director. The cast of the anime includes:

The first season of Saga of Tanya the Evil is streaming on Crunchyroll. Zen and Shinotsuki launched the novel series in 2013, and Kadokawa publishes the series digitally and in print. Toaru Anbu no ITEM Anime Casts Hana Hishikawa as Choubi Hanano

Toaru Anbu no ITEM Anime Casts Hana Hishikawa as Choubi Hanano

During NBC Universal’s AnimeJapan 2026 panel, the staff behind the Toaru Anbu no ITEM anime confirmed that Hana Hishikawa has joined its cast. She will play the role of Choubi Hanano. 

Hanano is the fifth member of ITEM, and is a shy girl that possesses mysterious abilities. She joins the following previously confirmed cast members of the Toaru Anbu no ITEM anime: 

  • Ami Koshimizu as Shizuri Mugino
  • Aya Suzaki as Rikou Takitsubou
  • Maaya Uchida as Frenda Seivelun
  • Chinatsu Akasaki as Saiai Kinuhata

A Certain Scientific Railgun anime director Tatsuyuki Nagai is directing the new anime at J.C. Staff. Chief animation director Shigeki Kimoto also returns to design Toaru Anbu no ITEM’s characters. Maiko Iuchi is the music composer. The anime will premiere in fall 2026.

The Toaru Anbu no ITEM novel series received a manga adaptation in fall 2023, and Kadokawa shipped the first compiled book volume on June 26, 2024. Fans can also look forward to A Certain Scientific Railgun Season 4, which is coming soon. The cast of A Certain Scientific Railgun Season 4 includes:

  • Rina Satō as Mikoto Misaka
  • Satomi Arai as Kuroko Shirai
  • Aki Toyosaki as Kazari Uiharu
  • Kanae Itō as Ruiko Saten

Tatsuyuki Nagai will also direct the new season of the anime series at J.C. Staff. Kiyotaka Haimura is credited with the original character designs as well. Yen Press is releasing the original light novel series in English. Moreover, Seven Seas Entertainment releases the Motoi Fuyukawa’s manga adaptation in English.

Funimation released the anime series in North America with the exception of the OVA. All three seasons of the A Certain Scientific Railgun anime are streaming now on Crunchyroll with English and Japanese voice-overs.

Tenbin Anime Reveals Opening Theme Song by DIALOGUE+

A new promo video for the TV anime adaptation of Yu Hibari and illustrator Siso’s The Neat and Beautiful Girl at My New School Was My Childhood Friend Who I Used to Play With Who I Thought was a Boy (Tenbin for short) light novel series was released at AnimeJapan 2026. The latest Tenbin promo video confirms that DIALOGUE+ will perform the opening theme song “Natsu ni Kasanete.”

Yu Hibari’s hit light novel series made its debut on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in 2020. Kadokawa began publishing the series, illustrated by Siso, in 2021. Ōyama began publishing the manga adaptation on Comic Walker in 2021. Kadokawa published the seventh compiled book volume of the manga on July 9.

I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World Season 2 confirmed

Kadokawa has announced I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World Season 2 is officially in the works following the new TV anime special for Miku and Rein Kuwashima’s I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World and Became Unrivaled in The Real World, Too light novel series. A new key visual for I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World Season 2 was revealed, and more details will be revealed at a later date.

The new I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World TV anime special will stream on March 29 and then air on March 30 in Japan.

The special’s new cast members include:

Hiromi Kimura also returns to design the characters, and UNLIMITED PRODUCE by TMS is again in charge of planning and production.

The I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World anime premiered in April 2023 and ran for 13 episodes. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan, and an English dub was released.

During AnimeJapan 2026, the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha staff revealed that the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha EXCEEDS Gun Blaze Vengeance anime will premiere on July 4 with an one-hour special. A newly released promotional video for Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha EXCEEDS Gun Blaze Vengeance gives fans an inside look at the anime before the premiere.

Nana Mizuki will perform the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha EXCEEDS Gun Blaze Vengeance opening theme song “CRIMSON BULLET,” and she also performs the song “Never Surrender.” Hina Aoki will perform the ending theme song “Ephemeral.”

What’s more, Yuna Ogata returns to voice Nanoha’s Raising Heart device, Akinari Sato voices Fate’s Bardiche device, and Yukana voices Rein Yagami, Hayate’s “daughter.”

The manga adaptation entered serialization in Kodansha’s Wednesday Sirius service on April 16, 2025. Creator Masaki Tsuzuki is writing the original story concept for the anime and manga series, and original character designer Shuichi Kawakami is drawing the art. Moreover, Takayuki Hamana returns as the director of the new anime at studio Seven Arcs. Issei Aragaki is the character designer and chief animation director.

Nanoha Takamachi, an ordinary third-grader who enjoys spending time with her family and friends, rescues an injured ferret that she had dreamed about the night before. The next day, the ferret cries out to her telepathically, asking Nanoha to save him. The ferret reveals himself to be Yuuno Scrya, a mage from another world who is trying to collect the dangerous 21 Jewel Seeds that he accidentally scattered across the world. He enlists Nanoha’s help, gifting her the magical wand Raising Heart, and teaches her how to become a powerful mage.

Days later, after reclaiming a few of the Jewel Seeds, another mage appears: Fate Testarossa. Stronger than Nanoha, Fate refuses to divulge her reasons in trying to collect the Jewel Seeds. Nanoha senses a melancholy in her eyes, but Fate refuses to communicate.

Jujutsu Kaisen Anime Gets New 5th Anniversary Visuals

The staff of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime series revealed new visuals to celebrate the anime’s 5th anniversary. The first visual commemorates Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 – The Culling Game Part 1, and the second visual links all of the previously revealed visuals into one.

What’s more, Juju Fes 2026 will be held on August 29 and August 30 at the K Arena Yokohama in Kanagawa. Fans can celebrate the 5th anniversary of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime with a number of activities, including a live dubbing stage with the cast, a special band performance, and more. 

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 – The Culling Game Part 1 is currently streaming on Crunchyroll with English subtitles and an English dub. Pony Canyon describes the anime’s story as follows:

The story follows Ryūsei Narukami, a shut-in who spends his days playing games, but who had once been a Demon King in another world. It also follows Meteor Hanaori, the former hero who defeated him and is now a high school girl. This romantic comedy between a former Demon King and a former Hero is now set to be brought to life as an anime.

Hikawa launched the manga in Kodansha’s Morning two magazine in August 2021, and the manga’s eighth volume released on September 22, 2025 in Japan. Seven Seas Entertainment will launch release the omnibus version of the manga in October 2026.
