Genshin Impact Version 7.0 ‘Everwinter Without Mercy’ Releases on August 12

Hoyoverse has announced that Genshin Impact Version 7.0, titled “Everwinter Without Mercy,” will release on August 12. The update adds a new region, new characters, and more. 

Snezhnaya, located on the northern edge of Teyvat, is a new region that is consistently freezing cold, and which also uses Kresnik energy for warmth. Players can explore the snowy tundras and interconnected trains, as well as the new Archon Quest. The quest allows players to get a closer look at a catastrophic blizzard, the energy crisis Snezhnaya is facing as a result, and the forces at work behind it. Quest completion yields 560 Primogems as a reward.

Players will also get the Eye of Graeae, a tool allows players to call for trains, fabricate Prime Ice Constructs for puzzle-solving, and unlock a new third-person shooter (TPS) mode. Additionally, Stellar Swirl, the second Stellar Glimmer reaction to be introduced after Stellar-Conduct, can now be triggered by combining Anemo and Cryo. The new version features two new characters: Odette and Alyosha. Odette is a 5-Star Cryo Sword wielder who is both a highly trained assassin and celebrated Snezhnayan ballerina. Alyosha is a 4-Star Electro Polearm wielder and is a Snezhnayan hunter who fights alongside his canine companion Tugari.

Recently, HoYoverse also announced that the upcoming version 7.0 of Genshin Impact will add an “enhanced visual presentation” to the game. This will include visual upgrades to new characters and textures. As a result, some of the specs for the game have changed. While there should still be no issues for most players, some Android users may experience compatibility issues. Genshin Impact is available now for Android, iOS, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Windows and Epic Games Store.
