The official website for the upcoming Overgeared anime adaptation, also known as Tempal: Item no Chikara, has released a new trailer for the series. The trailer also confirms more of the anime’s cast before it premieres on October 2.
The trailer also previews rock band Re:name’s opening theme song “SATISFY,” as well as the ending theme song “Ray of Emotion” by virtual singer TAO. The new cast includes Yūki Murata as Irene and Yurika Hirayama as Isabel. They join the following:
- Tatsumaru Tachibana as Grid
- Asami Seto as Yura
- Saya Fukuzumi as Euphemina
- Shuntaro Takayama as Huroi
- Riho Sugiyama as Jishuka
- Masaaki Mizunaka as Toban
- Kō Bonkobara as Regas
- Masaya Fukunishi as Vantner
- Kōhei Amasaki as Pon (Fon)
- Shunichi Toki as Faker
The anime will also premiere in theaters early via Crunchyroll’s Anime Nights program. Check out the new trailer for Overgeared below:
Ayako Kōno is directing the the anime at J.C. Staff, with EGG FIRM producing the series. Kenta Ihara handles the series scripts and designs the characters. Yoshikazu Iwanami is the sound director, and Yoshiaki Fujisawa is composing the music. Pony Canyon is credited for music production. The webtoon is based on the web novel by Park Saenal. Lee Dong-Wook writes the webtoon, and Team Argo handles the art.
Yen Press published the webtoon in English under its Ize Press label and describes the story:
Youngwoo Shin is a deadbeat in real life, working odd jobs to barely pay off his loans. Even his family has written him off as a hopeless video game addict. But when he logs in to the massively popular VR game Satisfy, Youngwoo becomes Grid the Warrior…who is also painfully mediocre. Everything changes when he stumbles across a tome containing the lost knowledge of a legendary blacksmith. The catch is, using it resets all his levels! In order to survive after being forced back to square one, Grid will need to hone his skills and gather reliable allies…or not! Who needs all that when you’re decked out in god-tier items?!
