The Peacock Theater has announced that tickets for The Game Awards 2026 will go live on October 29 at 10 AM PDT. The Geoff Keighley-hosted event will take place at the venue on December 10 at 4:30 PM PDT.
Details about the event and the nominees will likely release in November, similarly to prior iterations of the event. So far, potential Game of the Year candidates include Mina the Hollower, Pokémon Pokopia, Resident Evil Requiem, and 007 First Light. Further, it is possible that the The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake and Grand Theft Auto VI may qualify, depending on their release date. Last year, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 won the prestigious Game of the Year award.
In addition, The Game Awards 2026 will feature several announcements pertaining to the future of the industry. Last year, the event highlighted Mega Man: Dual Override, the next entries in the Tomb Raider series, Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic, Divinity, and further details about Resident Evil Requiem. It is possible that the award ceremony will release new trailers for Resident Evil Veronica and Final Fantasy VII: Revelation, alongside several completely new “world premieres.”
Before then, Keighley will host Gamescom 2026 Opening Night Live on August 25. The event itself will last from August 26-30, and include playable demos for Control Resonant, Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, Persona 4 Revival, Rayman Legends: Retold, and countless more. ONL will also include a new trailer for Final Fantasy VII: Revelation. Lastly, Geoff Keighley will reveal more details about The Game Awards 2026 in the coming months.
