Nintendo has announced The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, which will release in 2026. The release will commemorate the franchise’s 40th anniversary.
The announcement trailer is told in a storybook format. It hints at the role of the Great Deku Tree and the Kokiri. It states that every Kokiri has a fairy attached to them, all except for one who doesn’t. This boy is revealed to be Link, who we see in a gorgeously new HD artstyle sleeping as the Triforce of Courage flashes on his hand. The trailer also hints calls back to some of the iconic tracks from the original game, including Saria’s Song. Check out the reveal trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake below:
Recently, Nintendo announced that The Legend of Zelda film will now release on April 30, 2027, instead of its previous release date of May 7. It’s now releasing one week earlier after it was previously delayed from March 26 to May 7. The movie will star Bo Bragason as Zelda and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link. Previously, Shigeru Miyamoto showcased the official designs for both characters via a social media post.
Link’s design features his iconic green tunic, minus the classic hat. He also has blonde hair, which separates him from previous designs in the franchise. Zelda has her blue outfit from Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom, as well as her brown-haired look from Twilight Princess. Wes Ball directs the upcoming live-action The Legend of Zelda movie. In the past, Ball directed The Maze Runner franchise and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.
