YouTuber Doctre81 has released a new video tonight outlining a new spotting on LinkedIn. This finding features the work history of a 3D Character Modeler with experience across SEGA for PSO2 New Genesis, Byking for My Hero Ultra Rumble, and Cygames for Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond. The modeler worked for Nintendo under contract from January 2025 to April 2025 under the same position, but the description of work is where things get interesting.
Under the user’s Nintendo job description, it states the work was for “The Sequel of Nintendo’s SRPG(Tactical role-playing game) on Switch2”. As Doctre81 points out in his video, it is incredibly likely that this could be in reference to Fire Emblem, as Nintendo owns the property and it falls under the Tactical RPG banner. No other current Nintendo franchise really fits this banner, as despite Advance Wars having tactical combat, it has never been an RPG.
Rumors of a Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War remake have run rampant for years, yet we have never seen the game confirmed to be legitimate by Nintendo. Additionally, considering it has been quite some time since 2023’s Fire Emblem Engage, it would not be surprising to see a new Fire Emblem game about ready to release in the next year or so.

Nintendo Switch 2 is set to receive Metroid Prime 4, Pokémon Legends: Z-A, Kirby Air Riders, Drag x Drive, and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment in 2025. Donkey Kong Bananza was just released last week, and there are multiple Nintendo Switch 2 Edition games still to come.
