Aniplex has announced an anime adaptation of Kokamumo’s Null-Meta manga, which will premiere at some point in 2027. It has also unveiled the first key visual and staff members.
Kai Ikarashi, the director of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, will direct the anime at the studio Soigne. Tatsuya Takahashi is in charge of the series scripts, while Shin Ogasawara is designing the characters. Check out the first key visual for the Null-Meta anime below:
Kokamumo initially launched the four-panel manga in Houbunsha’s Manga Time Kirara Max magazine in March 2020. Houbunsha published the sixth compiled volume on January 27. MangaDex describes Null-Meta as follows:
Kurumi, the dumb android.
Chiaki, her guardian with a few screws loose.
Sakina, calm, composed, and easily amused.
Shiyuki, the only sane(?) girl.
Follow their exciting high school life as they tinker with and pamper Kurumi, as well as talk about nothing in particular.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 will premiere on Netflix on October 20. Here’s the cast of the anime series, via Netflix:
- Clancy Brown/Kentaro Tone as Weak
- “Once known as “King,” a veteran edgerunner at the top of his game, Weak now lives in the shadow of his former glory.”
- Nazeeh Tarsha/Koki Uchiyama as D
- “A Snake Nation netrunner with sharp technical skills and a sharper hunger for revenge, D hunts the killer who wiped out his clan.”
- Kimoy Lee/Akari Kito as Talia
- “Raised in corpo towers but hardened in Maelstrom’s grip, Talia is fiercely independent and steeped in the gang’s hyper-violent, chrome-obsessed culture.”
- Valeria Rodriguez/Momoka Terasawa as Roman Carax
- “Roman Carax is a young cinephile chasing real stories in a city that’s abandoned film for braindance. Obsessed with documenting truth, he shadows the lives of others — only to learn that unlike his favorite reels, Night City’s stories are messy, brutal, and rarely tied up with a clean ending.”
