Andrew Koji is in talks to star as Ryu in the upcoming Street Fighter film adaptation, according to a recent report from NexusPointNews. Additionally, Noah Centineo is in talks to star as Ken Masters.
Andrew Koji is known for his work in Warrior, Bullet Train, and Snake Eyes. Centineo has previously starred in The Recruit and Black Adam. The rumor comes despite previous reports that the Street Fighter film adaptation has been delayed indefinitely. Previously, Sony had removed from its initial March 20, 2026 release date. It currently has no new release window.
Sony attached Kitao Sakurai (Bad Trip, The Eric Andre Show) to be the director of the film. Before it, Talk To Me filmmakers Danny and Michael Philippou, also jointly known as RackaRacka, were the directors before departing the project. As of now, Kitao will still direct the project.
Street Fighter 6, the most recent entry in the Street Fighter series, is available now on the PlayStation, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The next DLC character, Elena, will release on June 5. She will be included with the “Years 1-2 Fighters Edition” of Street Fighter 6, which will include 26 playable characters. It will release for Nintendo Switch 2 on the same day.
The new version will feature a new Local Wireless mode, allowing for local play between users with the system. It supports tabletop mode with single Joy-Con play and Gyro Battle using dynamic motion controls. There’s also Calorie Contest Mode, which allows players to test their strength and endurance with exercises.
Andrew Koji and Noah Centineo are reportedly having discussions to star in the new Street Fighter film as Ryu and Ken.
