The staff for the upcoming third season of The Apothecary Diaries have released a brand-new trailer, key visual, additional cast and staff members, and details about the ending theme song. The Apothecary Diaries Season 3 will have two cours, with the first cour premiering on October 2 and the second cour premiering in April 2027. Crunchyroll will stream both cours.
The latest trailer previews the opening theme song, “Kumo o Nuke Kazashimo e Watashi dake” (“Breaking Through the Clouds, Downwind, It’s Just Me”), which will be performed by yorushika.
Joining the already star-studded roster for the upcoming season will be Reina Ueda, who stars as Bai Niangniang.
Akinori Fudesaka will direct The Apothecary Diaries Season 3 at animation studio OLM, with Wataru Nakagawa serving as assistant director. Norihiro Naganuma will handle the series composition, while Yuko Kakkihara, Misuzu Chiba, and Hitomi Ogawa will handle the series scripts. Yukiko Nakatani will handle the character designs. Satoru Kosaki, Kevin Penkin, and Arisa Okehazama will compose the music.
Natsu Hyuga writes the original The Apothecary Diaries light novel series, with illustrations by Toko Shino. The novel made its debut on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in October 2011. Nekokurage later launched an ongoing manga adaptation in Square Enix’s Monthly Big Gangan magazine in May 2017.
The Apothecary Diaries Season 2 ran from January 10 to July 4, 2025, and is streaming on Crunchyroll. What’s more, Itsuki Nanao’s The Apothecary Diaries: Xiaolan’s Story manga launched on Manga UP! on March 23.
