Kojima Productions’ Death Stranding 2: On The Beach has been rated in South Korea by the country’s ratings board, as spotted by Gematsu.
Death Stranding 2: On The Beach was rated back on January 22 in South Korea. The rating was made public on February 6. This is not entirely indicative of an imminent release, but it may hint that an announcement is incoming.
On February 5, Hideo Kojima shared on X (formerly Twitter) that he’s in the editing booth for the first time in over a year to work on a new trailer. One of the few images of a new trailer includes the iconic ‘A Hideo Kojima Game’ tagline. This trailer is likely for a new look at Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, which is set to arrive later this year exclusively on PS5.
Early last year, Death Stranding 2: On The Beach was formally showcased and revealed by Kojima Productions. The reveal trailer showcased Sam Porter Bridges embarking on a new quest to reunite the rest of the world. Together with Fragile and an unnamed character played by George Miller, Sam will traverse countless landscapes to change the world forever.
Death Stranding was first released as a PlayStation 4 exclusive in 2019. The game featured Norman Reedus as Sam Porter Bridges, a delivery man who must travel across a broken America and reunite it. In our review of the PC release, we stated the game creates ” an experience like nothing else on the market that is fresh and extremely thought provoking.”
It’s likely that we will see this new trailer edited by Hideo Kojima before too long. Death Stranding 2: On The Beach will release in 2025 for PlayStation 5 exclusively. No PC release has been confirmed by either Sony or Kojima Productions at this time.
