Death Stranding 2: On The Beach Confirmed for 2025

    Sony and Kojima Productions revealed a new look at Death Stranding 2 during today’s State of Play, revealing both the full title and release date. The game was first announced at The Game Awards 2022, with a trailer showing Fragile, Sam, and potentially both Lou and Higgs. 

    Many speculated that the title could show up at today’s State of Play for a number of reasons. First, notable leaker Billbil-kun recently released a report stating that a new trailer for the game was imminent in the next 15 days. Additionally, Hideo Kojima was spotted reposting the State of Play on his Instagram account, fueling speculation that DS2 could be shown off for the first time in over a year.

    “Embark on an inspiring mission of human connection beyond the UCA. Sam—with companions by his side—sets out on a new journey to save humanity from extinction. Join them as they traverse a world beset by otherworldly enemies, obstacles and a haunting question: should we have connected? Step by step, legendary game creator Hideo Kojima changes the world once again.”

    Death Stranding was first released as a PlayStation 4 exclusive in 2019. The game featured Norman Reedus as Sam Porter Bridges, a delivery man who must travel across a broken America and reunite it. In our review of the PC release, we stated the game creates ” an experience like nothing else on the market that is fresh and extremely thought provoking.”

    Death Stranding 2 – On The Beach will release on [date] for PlayStation 5 exclusively. No PC release has been confirmed by either Sony or Kojima Productions at this time.
