The official Twitter/X account for the upcoming DAN DA DAN anime have revealed the English dub for the series. DAN DA DAN: First Encounter will premiere in Asia on August 31, in Europe on September 7, and in North America in September 13. It will also premiere on Netflix on October 3.
Yukinobu Tatsu initially began writing the Dandadan series in 2021. The action and romance-comedy manga series is still ongoing in Shonen Jump+. Thus far, 12 volumes have been published to date in Japan. Fans may look forward to the new anime adaptation when 2024’s Halloween season gets underway.
DAN DA DAN Reveals English Cast, Airing in October
During Anime NYC 2024, the Twitter/X account for the DAN DA DAN anime has confirmed the English dub cast for the series. The cast is as follows:
- Abby Trott as Momo
- A.J. Beckles as Okarun
- Kari Wahlgren as Seiko
- Lisa Reimold as Aira
- Aleks Le as Jiji
- Barbara Goodson as Turbo Granny
- Ben Diskin as Serpoians
The entire series is available on the Crunchyroll Store, as well as other local and online retailers. Here’s a description of the series:
“A nerd must fight powerful spirits and aliens all vying for the secret power of his ‘family jewel,’ so who better to fight alongside him than his high school crush and a spirit granny?!”
“Momo Ayase strikes up an unusual friendship with her school’s UFO fanatic, whom she nicknames ‘Okarun’ because he has a name that is not to be said aloud. While Momo believes in spirits, she thinks aliens are nothing but nonsense. Her new friend, however, thinks quite the opposite.
“To settle matters, the two set out to prove each other wrong – Momo to a UFO hotspot and Okarun to a haunted tunnel! What unfolds next is a beautiful story of young love… and oddly horny aliens and spirits?”
The upcoming anime adaptation of Dandadan will be available on Netflix, Crunchyroll, and TBS/MBS on October 3, 2024. Additionally, the first three episodes will premiere in Asia on August 31, in Europe on September 7, and in North America in September 13.
