Summer Game Fest 2024 showrunner Geoff Keighley confirmed that Bokeh Game Studio’s new horror action game, Slitterhead, will receive a gameplay premiere at the showcase. This will be the first gameplay premiere for Slitterhead in nearly a year, and Summer Game Fest is the right stage for an update.

Slitterhead is currently in development with Keiichiro Toyama at the helm. This is Toyama’s first project since leaving Sony’s Japan Studio in 2020, and it’s Bokeh Game Studio’s first project as a company. Moreover, Toyama is joined by former colleagues from Japan Studio, sharing the same vision for an up-and-coming game studio.
This past September, Bokeh Game Studio shared insight about the motion capture process for Slitterhead in a developer diary video. The video focuses on the work done by cutscene director Minoru Kusakabe, who previously worked with Toyama on the Siren and Gravity Rush series.
Bokeh Game Studio’s long running video series, Golden Hour, sees Toyama share a drink with various game developers and artists to discuss their backgrounds and the horror genre. The latest Golden Hour video featured Junji Ito, the legendary manga author behind works like Tomie and Uzumaki.
Summer Game Fest 2024 will begin on Friday, June 7, with a live showcase hosted by Geoff Keighley. The event will begin at 2:00 p.m. PDT / 5:00 p.m. EDT and last for one and a half to two hours. The showcase will include several announcements from ATLUS, Remedy Entertainment, Capcom, and more. Fans can watch it on the event’s official YouTube and Twitch account.
Lastly, platforms and a release date for Slitterhead have not been announced yet.
