Gohan vs Goku is a battle I’d never thought we’d see again in Dragon Ball. Seeing that Gohan’s training and triumphant victory against Cell Max has caused him to grow stronger is so satisfying. It’s a long overdue moment for the character, but it’s better late than never. Dragon Ball Super chapter 102 makes a huge statement about how the rest of this arc might turn out, and it’s exciting to see. If you’re a Gohan fan and are not keeping up with the recent Dragon Ball Super chapters, then you are greatly missing out!
But don’t get it twisted! While this chapter is short, a few clues hint at future plot developments. Let’s go over Goten and Trunks entering Beerus’s Planet, the eavesdropping of the Red Ribbon Army, and Gohan vs Goku!
What Happened in Dragon Ball Super Chapter 102?
This was a short chapter similar to Boruto Two Blue Vortex this week. But we’ve got enough new information to have excitement and theories for the upcoming chapters. Speaking of theories, let’s talk about Goku’s insane mistake this chapter. Not only did he bring his sons and Trunks to Beerus’ Planet, but he accidentally brought Carmine and his co-worker. I don’t know about you guys, but I think Carmine watching the ongoing fights in Beerus’ Planet is very suspect.
With Goten and Trunks asking him to record their fight against Gohan, this gives Carmine much information on their fighting styles and strengths, including their weaknesses! Remember, in the previous chapter, Carmine sought a strong individual to defeat Gohan so that the Red Ribbon Army would be avenged. This could give Carmine more information for potential androids he can make. We might be looking at another Android saga here!
As stated before, we did get a funny little fight between Gohan and Goten with Trunks. The boys tried their best against Gohan, but it wasn’t enough to put up a good fight. They even ended up doing the failed fusion again. Regardless, I think this fight implies that Goten and Trunks might consider training more on Beerus’s Planet. With Broly being introduced to Gohan, Goten, and Trunks, I think it’s a great way to assemble a powerful team. We have plenty of villains to look forward to, and having a vast, strong team of Saiyans would be beneficial.
Unfortunately, we didn’t see much of Goku vs Gohan because it continues in the next chapter. However, it’s cool to see that Goku goes Ultra Instinct immediately, showing respect for Gohan’s strength. Gohan goes straight into Beast Mode, and they both start scrapping fiercely. It shakes the entire planet, and it’s so explosive that Whis had to put everyone in a barrier to protect from debris falling.
