All great things come to an end, and with episode 13, Ave Mujica – The Die is Cast – is officially wrapped up in a spectacular finale. This episode was very symbolic for not just Ave Mujica, as the MyGO!!!!! crew had plenty of time to shine in the most musically-driven episode of the series.
Ave Mujica episode 12 resolved the plot threads between Sakiko and Hatsune, with the latter returning to the stage under her “Uika” alias. With all five Ave Mujica members are now on good terms, the question of “what’s next?” remained as the series neared its climax. Fortunately, I think episode 13 brought the closure we were all looking for.
Spoiler warning: there will be story spoilers ahead for Ave Mujica – The Die is Cast – episode 13, including plot points and character choices.
Ave Mujica – The Die is Cast – Episode 13 is a Sendoff to a Fantastic Anime

The episode began with the members of MyGO!!!! making the last few preparations before heading onto the stage for their performance. Tomori is feeling some stage fright and Rāna needs a quick snack, but the group honestly don’t waste time much time at all. Now, it’s My GO!!!!!’s turn to “wow” the fans, and I believe they delivered in spades.
If there’s a theme or message that this episode conveyed through MyGO!!!!!, it’s certainly about the changing of seasons, but not in the literal sense. Although MyGO!!!!! wasn’t the focal point of Ave Mujica, they certainly played a role in making a lot of changes happen for each character at one point or anything. This felt like the culmination of the story that began with the BanG Dream! My GO!!!!! anime, as Tomori, Anon, and the rest of the crew sang and performed their hearts out on stage.
The punk rock melodies felt symbolic of Tomori’s own restraints and past issues being let go with a sense of togetherness from the band. Of course, the music was really great and the vocals were beautiful and captivating, with MyGO!!!!!’s performance taking up roughly 40% of the episode. This was an experience rather than a story being told, and it’s one that everyone watching will likely get something different out of.
Detaching From Their Strings
Ave Mujica’s performance was just as great as MyGO!!!!’s, but I think some will certainly say that the former edges out the latter. The band kicks off their performances as puppets becoming detached from their strings, with Uika being the star of the show once more. Her vocals were not only crucial to the songs the band plays, however. In a subtle way, Uika and the band incorporate the truth of Hatsune without revealing the finer details, instead using their aliases for a play.
Amoris (Nyamu), Timoris (Umiri), Mortis (Mutsumi), and Doloris (Uika) find themselves in what appears to be paradise, but Oblivionis (Sakiko) isn’t there. The group bickers amongst each other, but the spotlight is placed on Doloris, who wishes for nothing that the three other girls can offer, whether its love, fear, or death. She keeps remembering someone she’s supposed to forget, Oblivionis. When Oblivionis finally appears, she doesn’t knight or give Doloris what she really wants either, but Doloris admits her truth yet again, which is the desire to be by her side.
The Curtain Falls on the Ave Mujica Story

Ave Mujica’s last performance for the episode certainly evoked feelings of a departure, reassuring you that this is in fact the final episode. The feeling of a satisfaction after completing an anime series but left wanting more since it was so good. It’s bittersweet but it’s what makes observing this story so worthwhile.
All of the performances in Ave Mujica episode 13 were brilliant and worth replaying, and I already know I’ll be listening to them more whenever the songs hit Spotify. Undoubtedly, much of my enjoyment from this episode came from the music, as this felt more like a bonus or an epilogue to what episode 12 accomplished.
That being said, the final scene where MyGO!!!!! comes together to thank the fans was really special. It definitely puts a nice tie on everything that happened in MyGO!!!!! and Ave Mujica. In all, the curtain falls on a great episode and an even greater anime run here, and there’s certainly more to be explored in BanG Dream! in the future.
