Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis Adding Playable Yuffie on January 11

Everyone's favorite Wutai Ninja comes to the hit mobile title next week.

The official Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis account has revealed that Yuffie Kisaragi will join as a playable character starting on January 11, 2024. She will join in Chapter 5 of the Final Fantasy VII storyline, titled The Wide, Wide World. This will showcase Cloud and the party’s first steps outside Midgar, which will include meeting Yuffie.

Based on the trailer, it seems that Ever Crisis will indeed follow the original storyline, as we see Yuffie hop around and mess with the party in a forest. This will likely take place after the party leaves Kalm and heads for Mythril Mine.

Ever Crisis was developed by Applibot, Inc. and published by Square Enix. In combat, you utilize different attacks that take time to recharge, similar to the original FFVII. The Steam version of the game will keep combat the same but allow the use of different control inputs. The New Year’s event is currently ongoing and features Yuffie as a boss you can fight against.

Alongside Ever Crisis, the next installment in the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, is also close to release. The title is scheduled for February 29, 2024, exclusively for PlayStation 5 consoles. This remake allows for a new experience of FFVII for all fans, with Ever Crisis being a ‘true’ remake in the sense of keeping all story events from the 1997 original. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is set to launch exclusively for PlayStation 5 on February 29, 2024. The title will be exclusive to the platform until May 29, 2024. A Standard Edition, Deluxe Edition, and Collector’s Edition are available to pre-order now.

Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is available on iOS, Android, and PC via Steam now. The new update adding Yuffie will be available starting January 11 at 8:00 PM CST.
