Bokeh Game Studio published a new “Golden Hour” episode featuring Danganronpa series and Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE creator Kazutaka Kodaka. The Golden Hour series of videos allows Bokeh Game Studio to share insight into game development through discussions with prominent developers.
Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE is a new mystery adventure game that follows similar themes from the prolific Danganronpa franchise. Yuma Kokohead, the amnesia-stricken protagonist, heads into Kanai Ward to begin his work as a detective. However, his situation becomes even more clear once his assignment with fellow Master Detectives takes a wrong turn.
Kazutaka Kodaka Visits Bokeh Game Studio
The latest episode of Golden Hour sees Bokeh Game Studio founder and director Keiichiro Toyama sit down for a chat with Kazutaka Kodaka. Kodaka discusses his role as a writer and director on the Danganronpa franchise at Spike Chunsoft and how his role may change depending. For instance, being a director for Danganronpa involves production and budget management, whereas directorial duties at other studios may vary slightly depending on the project. Toyama and Kodaka also discuss some of the intricacies of game development and management.
Further, Toyama discusses the element of surprise within the writing of Danganronpa and Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE. Kodaka states that he loves never-ending cliffhangers in his titles since it keeps fans wondering about what could happen next in the game. Toyama also appreciates this thematical element from Kodaka’s games since it leads to unexpected story developments.
