In The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie, Trial Keys are the direct replacement to Trial Chests from The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV. Trial Keys provide challenging battles that involve a specific party of characters at a required level, and those who conquer such challenges will earn valuable rewards and Craft upgrades.
While traversing the True Reverie Corridor, players may receive Trial Keys by opening blue treasure chests. The first Trial Key is mandatory since it’s a main boss drop, serving as a brief tutorial for the feature. Several Trial Keys are available to discover in The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie, and this guide outlines each key’s location and required parties for the battles.
Before starting a Trial battle, players must meet the required level and should have the best-in-slot gear available. Accessories that increase evasion and prevent aliments are recommended since Trial bosses have a high chance of inflicting aliments. Moreover, Quartz slots should be maxed out in order to receive the best possible stat increase from Ultra Rare Quartz. Maxing out the BP gauge to eight slots and acquiring all four levels of the “Buff Certain Fights” upgrade from the Phantasmal Shards shop is highly recommended as well.
