Umbraclaw Confirmed for Switch, Gameplay Reveal Trailer

    Releasing alongside the Steam version.

During BitSummit Let’s Go!!, Inti Creates confirmed a Nintendo Switch version of side-scrolling cat action game, Umbraclaw. The new title will be available alongside the PC (Steam) version when it launches.

In Umbraclaw, players control a deceased house cat named Kuon through a fantasy storybook-like realm known as the Soulplane. Kuon has multiple abilities at his disposal including Shadowstep and Anima Revive. Shadowstep allows the cat to trigger an invincible dash at the cost of stamina. Kuon may trigger a Fatal Stomp attack after using Shadowstep to avoid attacks and gaining skill energy. If Kuon dies in the afterlife, Anima Revive gives him another chance with renewed strength and an animal-based skill. These abilities are crucial toward making it through the Soulplane with only nine lives, and Kuon may transform into a human form to gain a massive power-up.

Blaster Master Zero director Satoru Nishizawa is leading development of Umbraclaw. BitSummit Let’s Go!! attendees may try out Nishizawa’s work at the Inti Creates booth. Specifically, the Nintendo Switch version is playable at the booth, providing a sneak peek into what fans can expect in the near future.
