Ghostwire: Tokyo Update Adds New Costumes

    The outfits of the Tatariya.

Bethesda and Tango Gameworks have released a new update for Ghostwire: Tokyo. This comes as the first new update in the past two months, although the content is minor. In it, they add three brand new costumes that can be unlocked for free.

This could very well be the final release of content for Ghostwire: Tokyo, but we’ll have to wait and see if Tango Gameworks has anything else in store for players. Considering the game was originally released almost 16 months ago, there’s a good chance this could be the end for now.

    New Costumes in Ghostwire: Tokyo

Tango Gameworks officially announced the update in a tweet and described it as the following:

“Wear the aesthetic outfits of the Tatariya, wielders of a cursed power, with THREE new costumes in today’s Ghostwire: Tokyo update. Log in now and receive the free Tatari (Staff User), Tatari (Weaver), and Tatari (Archer)!”

All you need to do to access the costumes is open Ghostwire: Tokyo. Afterward, you will have access to the costumes for free. To change outfits, scroll through your inventory until you reach an icon with a clothes hanger, then pick your costume.

This is not the first significant update that Tango Gameworks has added to Ghostwire: Tokyo recently. They released “The Spider’s Thread” update in April 2023 and added a rogue-lite mode, new cutscenes, new enemies, new skills, new areas, and more.

Ghostwire: Tokyo was developed by Tango Gameworks and directed by Kenji Kimura. He is best known previously for his work on the Tekken franchise as an artist and the Metal Gear Solid series as a designer. The title was originally unveiled during Bethesda Softworks’ E3 2019 presentation, where Ikumi Nakamura was set to direct. She left the company later that year, which led Kenji Kimura to direct the game. It was originally released on March 25, 2022, exclusively for PlayStation 5 and PC. The game was released on Xbox Series X|S this past April.

Tango Gameworks is led by Shinji Mikami, known as the pioneer behind the Resident Evil franchise. He directed the first title of the series, as well as the beloved Resident Evil 4. It was announced earlier this year that Mikami plans to leave Tango Gameworks in the coming months due to undisclosed reasons.

Tango released Hi-Fi Rush earlier this year, which was met with love all around the world from critics and fans alike. It is a rhythm-based title where you fight back against robots. A brand-new update was recently released last week, featuring multiple new modes to enjoy and new costumes, stickers, and items.

Ghostwire: Tokyo is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Additionally, the game currently costs $24 during the Steam Summer Sale. Be sure to watch for more news from Tango Gameworks and Bethesda about the future of Ghostwire: Tokyo.
