As spotted by Persona Central, SEGA and ATLUS’s official announcement post for Persona 5 Tactica reveals nine million copies of the Persona 5 series have been sold. These sales include the original Persona 5 from 2016, Persona 5 Royal, Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight, and Persona 5 Strikers. An estimated total of 17.7 million copies have been sold for the Persona series with Persona 5 taking up roughly 51% of total sales.

This sales update just two months after SEGA confirmed the Persona 5 Royal remaster surpassed 1.7 million copies sold as of March 31, 2023. The Persona franchise sold approximately 3.27 million copies in SEGA’s past fiscal year. Sales for the Persona series have increased by nearly two million when compared to fiscal year ending in March 2022.

Persona 5 Series Continues With Tactica

In Persona 5 Tactica, Joker and the Phantom Thieves return with Persona Q2-esque designs. Persona 5 Tactica players will be aided by the mysterious revolutionary Erina as the Phantom Thieves face a new threat in the Metaverse. The new Persona 5 game will feature turn-based strategy RPG gameplay instead of the standard Megami Tensei system. Pre-orders are available now in Japan with bonus DLC Persona Orpheus Picaro and Izanagi Picaro.

Anime Expo 2023 attendees may learn more about Persona 3 Reload and Persona 5 Tactica during respective panels on July 3.
