What SP is Used For
SP has one, hyper-important use: to buy things on the Skill Tree. The Skill Tree lets you spend SP to get Synthesis Recipes, new Synthesis Functions, upgrades for Ryza, and some other upgrades.
This is important because you get new battle items and gear recipes along with upgrades to your basket and gathering capabilities. This lets you get more items and BETTER items. Which then funnels back into making better gear, which then goes back into your combat prowess. The mechanics all weave together quite nicely!
How to Get SP
Synthesizing items is one of the fastest ways to get SP. There are Skill Tree nodes that actually increase the amount of SP you get when crafting. Creating new items and rare items give you more SP. Add the SP increase skill and you can get boatloads of SP fast, especially mid to late game when you can make a ton of items.
Completing certain Quests will give you some extra SP. Usually about 200 or 300 SP. Various Random Quests also reward you with SP (around 50-200 depending on the quest). These are good to do early on in the Skill Tree but this is chump change by the time you’re deep into the skill tree.
Getting the skills that improve Synthesis SP gain are worth it because Synthesis is the name of the game and the fastest way to get SP fast.
