Limited Time Quests
They are triggered in certain areas or by talking to certain people. A party member will point out an NPC or a monster group. Defeating the monsters or completing the NPCs quest will earn you rewards like Cole, Items, Gold Coins, or Bonus SP. Occasionally party members even get a small stat boost from completing these.
They can and will disappear if you leave the area. Normal Quests will disengage if you wander too far from them or if you run out of time.
They are optional and are thus not recorded in your Quest Journal. There’s not any real consequence to not doing these. You only miss out on bonuses. These quests do not contain any Character, Story, or World development. So, it’s actually completely fine to not do ones that you don’t want to. Sometimes you can get a Normal Quest that you can’t complete at the time, especially in the early game.
Something that I found out is that Normal Quests that involve trading items can be canceled but sometimes the quest giver will try to bargain with a better item. Though, this can also lead to an outright cancellation. Will you risk receiving no reward for the chance of getting a better one?
