In November 2021, Panda Global announced that they would partner with Nintendo to bring the Super Smash Bros. circuit to fruition in North America. A few months later, EVO announced that Super Smash Bros. Melee and Ultimate would not make a return at EVO 2022.

The Super Smash Bros. series was a mainstay at EVO throughout the years and many felt disappointed about its exclusion. The Panda Cup aims to bring excitement for fans following the lack of Super Smash Bros. at EVO this summer.

Lastly, the official website is live here and will be regularly updated with more details.
