Final Fantasy IX animated series featured at Licensing Expo 2022 on May 24th – 26th

The upcoming Final Fantasy IX animated series will be presented at the Licensing Expo 2022 event in Las Vegas, Nevada. The show runs from May 24th through May 26th at the Mandalay Bay with first looks into works produced by Cyber Group Studios. Cyber Group Studios is the animation studio working on the Final Fantasy IX animated series licensed through Square Enix.

Here’s the official excerpt from Cyber Group Studios CEO Bruno Denzel d’Aumont, via Animation Magazine:

What are some of the new shows you will be bringing to the event?
At the Licensing Expo, we will, of course, continue to promote our global preschool property Gigantosaurus, with new content to come internationally. It will be a great opportunity to share our upcoming plans with our licensees, agents, and new partners. Additionally, our most recently developed shows — Digital Girl, The McFire Family, Press Start! and Final Fantasy IX — will be presented for the first time. These four new series have a strong licensing appeal for different age targets.

Last year’s major NVIDIA GeForce Now leak revealed many games in development across various Japanese and western studios. Some of these games including the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition and God of War (2017) for PC. One of the rumored titles on the list is Final Fantasy IX Remake and the new animated series could coincide with the remake.

Currently, Square Enix is developing Kingdom Hearts IV, Final Fantasy XVI, and the next part of Final Fantasy VII Remake. Producer Naoki Yoshida confirmed that a new trailer is complete and the game is being polished. Additionally, Square Enix confirmed that Final Fantasy VII 25th Anniversary news is coming this June. The news could involve Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis, which was confirmed to release before the end of September 2022. Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis is coming to iOS and Android.

Final Fantasy IX is currently available across modern platforms such as PS4, Xbox One, Switch, iOS, Android, and PC via Steam.
