In the latest issue of Famitsu, Falcom president Toshihiro Kondo shared his plans to bring more games to Switch. Specifically, The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki and remaining Trails games not currently announced/released for Switch yet are being tested. These Trails games likely refer to the Trails in the Sky trilogy.
Kondo also confirmed that Falcom is looking into bringing ‘retro’ games and future games in the series to Switch (i.e. The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki II -CRIMSON SiN-). It’s clear that the platform is a main priority going forward for the company. Here’s what the president had to say via RPGSite:
Famitsu: Are there any plans to port the latest Trails title, Kuro no Kiseki, to Nintendo Switch?
Kondo: In addition to Kuro no Kiseki, we’re currently testing out the feasibility of porting the other entries in the Trails series that aren’t represented on the platform to Nintendo Switch. At the same time, we’re evaluating to the degree we might be able to have further entries in the series developed for the hardware. Of course, these discussions aren’t just limited to Trails, and we’re also considering the possibility of releasing our other franchises on the platform.
The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki II -CRIMSON SiN- releases later this fall for PS4 and PS5 in Japan.
