During the Naruto: What’s Next? panel at New York Comic Con 2026, the Project Rasengan 3-year roadmap was revealed to detail the immediate future of the prolific series by creator Masashi Kishimoto. At the panel, it was revealed that Masashi Kishimoto will be working on a new manga titled Naruto Shadow Rising, with more details to be unveiled at the Naruto Stage at Jump Festa 2027 this December.
Before the Naruto Shadow Rising announcement ended the panel, a new Naruto x Ninku collaboration limited anime series was announced. This new anime will bring an alternate version of the story of Team 7 from Part 1 with characters from the Ninku series directly involved. The story is fully supervised by creators Masashi Kishimoto and Koji Kiriyama, with Noriyuki Abe directing the anime alongside chief animation director and character designer Tetsuya Nishio.
The panel also saw the announcement of a global release for the Naruto Mobile game, with more details also to follow at Jump Festa 2027. Naruto Mobile was previously and exclusively available in China.
In addition, NARUTO CARD GAME launches in June 2027 worldwide as a the franchise’s new strategy-focused, competitive trading card game, and there will be multiple demo events in February and March ahead of launch.
As previously announced, NARUTO CARD GAME features characters and stories from NARUTO, NARUTO: Shippuden, and BORUTO: NARUTO NEXT GENERATIONS. Each player builds around a Leader card with a deck of 51 cards, 5 Chakra cards, and 1 Summon card. Assemble characters in their Leader’s color and attack to reduce the opponent’s Leader’s life to zero.
