BANDAI and its BANDAI CARD GAMES brand have revealed the “First Look” and overview trailer for NARUTO CARD GAME, a new trading card game based on Masashi Kishimoto’s iconic Naruto manga and anime franchise. NARUTO CARD GAME is planned to launch in summer 2027 worldwide as a strategy-focused, competitive trading card game, and it will be appear at multiple events following its Gen Con 2026 debut.
NARUTO CARD GAME features characters and stories from NARUTO, NARUTO: Shippuden, and BORUTO: NARUTO NEXT GENERATIONS. Each player builds around a Leader card with a deck of 51 cards, 5 Chakra cards, and 1 Summon card. Assemble characters in their Leader’s color and attack to reduce the opponent’s Leader’s life to zero.
Here’s a breakdown of the types of cards that are playable:
- Leader Card — The heart of a player’s deck. A player’s cards and strategies are determined by the color of their Leader, with games won when an opponent’s Leader’s Life is brought to zero.
- Character Card — A player’s front line. Character cards execute attacks, and some can unleash Jutsu, such as Ninjutsu, by paying a Chakra cost.
- EX Character Card — After meeting certain conditions during the match, these powerful, high-impact Characters can swing the game into a player’s favor.
- Chakra Card — A player’s resource pool, spent to activate Jutsu and other Support effects at the moment they’re needed.
- Summon Card — A required card to bring Character cards into battle.
As previously announced, NARUTO CARD GAME will make its world debut at Gen Con 2026, which runs from July 30 to August 2 in Indianapolis. Gen Con attendees can attend the first-ever NARUTO CARD GAME Tutorial Sessions. By joining a Tutorial Session, participants can receive a gift set containing a CP-001 Chakra Card -Gen Con 2026 Ver.- promotional card, a special backpack, a sticker, and a purchase ticket for a “NARUTO CARD GAME Official Playmat -Arriving in 2027-” (purchase ticket valid only on the day of the attended event). Visitors to the booth can also receive an exclusive backpack and sticker (the giveaway concludes when each day’s allocated amount is given away).
