Rumor: Nintendo and Nvidia are working on a Switch revision, utilizes Volta GPU architecture and custom Nvidia processor

The latest rumor comes from Wccftech and as always, its important to take each rumor with a grain of salt. Apparently, a new SoC is in development with Nintendo and Nvidia for a new Switch revision. This revision is considered to be a “Pro” version, but we will not be addressing it as such here. The revision will not support 4K or include major performance boosts. However, it’s supposed to use a Volta GPU and architecture. The Tegra X1 would be replaced with a custom chip developed by Nintendo and Nvidia. With a custom processor and Volta GPU, power draw would be reduced and include a minor/reasonable boost in performance. A revision like this would target 1080p across many more games and give developers a bit more to work with in the Switch. Once again, please take this rumor with a grain of salt.
