COD: Modern Warfare open beta available mid-September

If you’re into Call of Duty, chances are you want to play Modern Warfare come its October release. You won’t have to wait that long though, as there’s going to be an open beta prior to the game’s official launch! Today, Activision and Infinity Ward announced that Modern Warfare will be getting two open beta weekends during the month of September.

The first open beta weekend will be from September 12th to 16th, and will be exclusive to the PS4. The 12th and 13th will be exclusive to those who pre-ordered the game, but the 14th to 16th will be for all PS4 users. On the following weekend, the 19th and 20th will be pre-order exclusive for PC and Xbox One. PS4 will be in open beta during both days. Then from the 21st to the 23rd, the game will be in open beta for everyone. It’s a very convoluted open beta schedule I know. Point is, if you didn’t pre-order then you can play from the 21st to the 23rd.

Along with this, the team also revealed the first multiplayer gameplay for Modern Warfare. If you’d like to watch that, you can do so here. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will release for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on October 25th, 2019

Destiny 2 Shadowkeep and New Light delayed

If you were looking forward to the upcoming Destiny 2 expansion or its Steam edition, we have some unfortunate news for you. Today, Bungie put up an official blog post that detailed how both will be delayed. They will now be releasing on October 1st rather than the original September 17th release date.

Within the blog post, they detailed that the update “would benefit from a bit more time in the oven” Thus, they’ve decided that two more weeks is a sufficient amount of time. They went on to discuss the idea that these fall releases are the game’s first step to getting Destiny to where they want. Overall, I trust that but whether you do is your choice.

Destiny New Light is a new, free to play edition of everything Destiny 2 has to offer. This is anything from the base game, all the way to Forsaken for completely free on Steam. Destiny Shadowkeep, on the other hand, is the upcoming expansion. Players new and old will be returning to the moon, discovering what even has arisen again there.

Players are excited for both, but we’ll have to wait a little longer. Are you going to get Shadowkeep or try New Light? Let us know in the comments below.
