SNK to develop new “AAA” IP, more fighting games and a potential action RPG

SNK updated their recruitment site to reflect their new slogan “Yabaizo, SNK” and usher in a “second founding” period (Thanks, @gatoray_kof). SNK aims to become a global top 10 gaming publisher within the next decade. Within those 10 years, SNK plans to develop a new “AAA” IP and high quality games. These games include new fighting games and a potential action RPG.

As SNK aims to develop bigger projects, more developers need to be brought on board. The company is currently hiring staff for their Osaka and Tokyo studios for development and non-development roles. These job positions including planners, game engineers, programmers and UI/UX designers. All of the job positions include the “opportunity to become a core member of AAA titles” being developed at SNK.

As previously announced, SNK is developing and testing more projects with Unreal Engine. The new job listings reflect this as hirings must be welcome to learning and developing with Unreal Engine. SNK is open to the challenges of “AAA” game development and will put in the effort to ensure high quality for their games.

The next few years should be interesting for SNK as they continue to support The King of Fighters XV with new updates and DLC. Since SNK is already testing an unannounced new game in Unreal Engine, it’s likely that a reveal could come within the next year or so. In the meantime, stay tuned at Final Weapon for the latest Japanese gaming news and updates!
