Rick Thiher, General Manager for EVO, said the following about the news: “São Paulo has a special place in the history of fighting games. From the grassroots arcade communities that helped build Brazil’s fighting-game culture to the Versus: Evo South America tournaments that the community held in 2008 and 2009, this city has long been part of the FGC’s story. Bringing Evo to São Paulo will be an opportunity to honor that legacy, showcase the incredible passion of Brazil’s players and fans, and invite the global fighting-game community to the next chapter in Evo’s history. We’re excited to bring the world together in a city that understands what makes fighting games so extraordinary.”
One of the games featured, MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls, is available now on PlayStation 5 and PC. Recently, Arc System Works revealed that Thor (Jane Foster), Venom, and Jubilee will join Phoenix Cyclops in the Year 1 DLC for MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls. Jane Foster will fill the role of Thor, similarly to Jason Aaron’s run on the Thor comics in 2014. She will release in winter 2027. Venom will launch alongside a new Kylntar stage in spring 2027, while Jubilee will be available in summer 2027. As for the first character in the DLC, Phoenix Cyclops, he is still on track to release on November 2.
