Nintendo has announced that Variable Refresh Rate will be supported in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time when played in docked mode with an HDMI 2.1 compatible TV. It will be the second Nintendo Switch 2 game to support the feature, following Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour.
Recently, Nintendo held a The Legend of Zelda Direct, in which it announced that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will launch on November 5 for Nintendo Switch 2 digitally for $59.99 and physically for $69.99. Pre-orders for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time are now open in the Nintendo eShop (27 GB estimated file size for digital), and there will be new Young Link and Young Zelda amiibo that will introduce two new masks for Link.
What’s more, Nintendo announced that a new The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time Nintendo Switch 2 40th Anniversary Edition console will be released on October 29. A newly themed Pro Controller and carrying case (with screen protector) will also be released that same day. The game is not included in the 40th Anniversary Edition console, but the game will be sold physically at retail.
The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time will include support for the Zelda Notes mobile app, which was previously used exclusively for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. The app will support a number of new features, including an Ocarina full of playable music and Gossip Quests. In the new remake, players can also hum familiar melodies to perform songs on the Ocarina, thanks to the Switch 2’s microphone. Series producer Eiji Aonuma demonstrated the feature with his own Ocarina, which will also be a purchasable accessory in the Nintendo Store.
