Nintendo has announced various new pieces of merchandise and activations celebrating the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda, including a new The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Link & Epona LEGO Set. The Link & Epona LEGO Set will release in 2027 as a 1,750-piece collectible display model for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time fans.
In addition, there will be a new Hasbro Legend of Zelda Electronic Master Sword, which is 27 inches long with more than 15 touch- and motion-activated sounds. The new product from Hasbro will also release in spring 2027, and pre-orders open on September 9 at 10:00 a.m. PT at Hasbro Pulse and retail.
Nintendo will also introduce a special Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary ticket for Nintendo Museum in Kyoto starting September 9. That same day, fans can start collecting Legend of Zelda series digital cards in the Nintendo Today! smart device app.
On November 5, there will be new photo opportunities for the series at Nintendo Museum. The Super Family Restaurant will also open this fall, allowing fans to enjoy a meal surrounded by Link and other Nintendo characters. Museum anniversary activities will continue for one year.
The Legend of Zelda film opens on April 30, 2027 in theaters. The movie will star Bo Bragason as Zelda and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link. Wes Ball directs the movie, which is in production between Nintendo, Arad Productions Inc. and Sony Pictures Entertainment, Inc. In the past, Ball directed The Maze Runner franchise and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.
The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time will launch on November 5 for Nintendo Switch 2 digitally for $59.99 and physically for $69.99, and pre-orders are now open in the Nintendo eShop.
