Netmarble has released a new update for Solo Leveling: ARISE featuring a new version of Sung Jinwoo as the Monarch of Shadows’ Successor. Players can add Sung Jinwoo, Monarch of Shadows, at any time in Solo Leveling: ARISE since recruitment for him has no end date.

Sung Jinwoo takes on the form of the Monarch of Shadows, a Dark-element Successor whose combat builds on the distinct style of the existing Jinwoo’s. He adds a striking new dimension by transforming to perform combo attacks in synergy with his shadows. His skills include Mirage Blade, a strike delivered with a blade of death, and Sovereign Doom which unleashes the Breath of Destruction before condemning the enemy to an endless death.
An event marking the Monarch of Shadows’s arrival lets any player obtain him simply by completing in-game missions, and since recruitment has no end date, players can add him to their roster at any time.
The update also introduces Jung Yerim, a new Fire-element Supporter. She is an all-around supporter who boosts the team’s firepower by providing healing and shields, as well as increasing Fire element Overload damage, Burst damage, Attack Power, and Ultimate Move damage.
Additionally, Sung Jinwoo’s level cap has been increased from 150 to 160 and players can now experience a new Job, “Monarch of Shadows: Vanquisher.” The Workshop of Brilliant Light has been revamped with Baran, the Monarch of White Flames stepping in as the boss, and Hidden Chapters 11 and 12 are now available in both Normal and Reverse Normal difficulties.
A variety of events is also now underway, including “Midnight Mermaid Mayhem!,” giving players plenty of chances to earn rewards.
Solo Leveling: ARISE is available now for Android, iOS, and PC. Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE, the revamped offline version of the mobile game, is available now for PC via Microsoft Store and Steam, followed by PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in Q3 2026. Final Weapon reviewed Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE and gave it a 4/5 score, noting that the game has “many improvements across the board, including major gameplay tweaks and additions, a more immersive story mode structure, and the removal of gacha mechanics.”
