Nintendo and Retro Studios’ Metroid Prime 4: Beyond has surpassed one million copies sold across Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, a Nintendo representative confirmed to Game File reporter Stephen Totilo. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond surpassed one million copies sold as of December 31, 2025, which was just 27 days after the game launched on December 4.
Final Weapon reviewed Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and gave it a 4.5/5 score, noting that the game’s “overall approach to gameplay and the narrative does a great job of evolving the series while staying true to what made it special in the first place.”
As previously revealed, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition includes two different graphics options, Quality Mode and Performance Mode, which output at 4K 60 FPS and 1080p 120 FPS, respectively. Both of these modes support HDR, and there’s even the option to play with mouse controls with Joy-Con 2.
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond was the last game produced by Kensuke Tanabe at Nintendo. The Metroid Prime 4: Beyond producer notes that while a sequel is still uncertain, Risa Tabata and Retro Studios will be able to tell the full story of the Sylux Saga, which began with the release of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond.
