Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis Releases Dirge of Cerberus Event on January 28

Square Enix has announced that content based on Dirge of Cerberus will come to Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis on January 28. The new event commemorates the 20th anniversary of Dirge of Cerberus

The new event for Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis features story content based on Dirge of Cerberus. It will highlight moments from the original game in the Ever Crisis style, as well as characters such as Rosso, Shalua, and more. 2026 kicks off with a bang for Final Fantasy VII, as the Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 versions of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade are set to launch on January 22, 2026. Featuring the base game and the Episode INTERmission DLC featuring Yuffie Kisaragi, the Nintendo Switch 2 version includes a “Streamlined Progression” feature, giving players access to unlimited MP and HP, unlimited limit and ATB gauge during battles, 9,999 damage, easier weapon ability acquisition, and more. A demo is available now.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Remake Part 3 will release on Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S at a later date. The latter game is now in a playable state and will utilize Unreal Engine 4. These titles are part of Square Enix’s new multiplatform strategy, which sees the franchise finally head to more platforms outside PlayStation much sooner after their respective launches.

Lastly, Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is available on iOS, Android, and PC via Steam. The Dirge of Cerberus event will release on January 28.
