Limited Run Games has announced that the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of Tomba! Special Edition is available now. It doesn’t appear that owners of the original Switch version can upgrade to the Switch 2 edition at no further cost.
According to Limited Run Games, the new edition of Tomba! Special Edition includes increased resolution, improved performance, higher quality assets, and downsampled display mode. The new version costs $20. However, unlike certain other games that have a Switch 2 edition, there is no option to upgrade the game on the eShop. Instead, you can no longer purchase the original version of Tomba! Special Edition. It is unknown if a free upgrade will be available at a later date.
UPDATE: Limited Run Games has officially confirmed that the Nintendo Switch edition can be upgraded to the Nintendo Switch 2 version at no additional cost at the end of the month. Check out the announcement post below:
