Ubisoft has finally announced that Assassin’s Creed Shadows will release for the Nintendo Switch 2 on December 2. Additionally, it has confirmed details about the game’s fall roadmap for updates.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows on the Nintendo Switch 2 will include all of the title updates released thus far. It will also feature cross progression. The Claws of Awaji expansion will be available for the console at a later date. The game supports touch screen controls. Shadows will release on a game-key card and cost $59.99 both digitally and physically.

Next week, on October 28, a new free parkour update will release. This will include “eject to void,” catch-ledge, side eject on parkour down, and non-standing object manual jump mechanics. On November 28, a free story quest will release, which adds new abilities for Naoe and Yasuke, alongside an isu puzzle. A second “special collaboration” will also be available.

Lastly, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Ubisoft Store. It will release for Switch 2 on December 2. Recently, we interviewed one half of the duo behind the game’s soundtrack: The Flight. Further, Final Weapon had the chance to review Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

We rated the game a 2.5 and described it as a “small, yet flawed, step in the right direction for the series. While the story, characters, visuals, music, and main gameplay mechanics shine, the lack of development for the protagonists, the boring side quests, the continued emphasis on combat instead of stealth, and the frustrating action RPG mechanics severely hinder the experience.  Unfortunately, it’s not the evolution of the series that many fans were hoping for, and it pales in comparison to other games that have handled its formula far better.”
