As the summer draws to a close, gaming fans have another event to look forward to with Gamescom 2025 Opening Night Live. Gamescom is a significant video game event that initially began in 2009. In the last few years, notable gaming figure Geoff Keighley has led the event into prominence.
Gamescom 2025 will kick off next week with its annual Opening Night Live. Keighley has revealed that the event will be filled with news on much-anticipated games releasing in the next year and beyond. Here’s an overview of when and where to watch Gamescom Opening Night Live 2025, as well as what games to expect from the showcase.
Where and When to Watch Gamescom 2025 Opening Night Live 2025 – Start Time and Live Streams
The Gamescom 2025 Opening Night Live broadcast begins on Tuesday, August 19 at 8:00 p.m. CEST / 11:00 a.m. PDT / 12:00 p.m. MDT / 1:00 p.m. CDT / 2:00 p.m. EDT / 7:00 p.m. BST. Fans can watch the event through The Game Awards’ official Twitch and YouTube accounts. A 30-minute pre-show will take place beforehand, hosted by Kyle Bosman. Some announcements will be revealed during the pre-show.

The event will last approximately two hours and end at 10 PM CEST, 9 PM BST, 4 PM EDT, 1 PM PDT. Gamescom 2025 will be held at the Koelnmesse Center in Germany if you hope to be there in person. Tickets are still available at the event’s official website here.
What Games Will Be Present?
In the past, Geoff Keighley has made sure to clarify that the game would only focus on previously announced games rather than brand new announcements. Last year, however, games such as Borderlands 4 and Mafia: The Old Country were revealed for the first time, so it is possible that fans can see some exciting world premieres during the event. So far, the following games have been confirmed for Gamescom 2025:
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 7
- Resident Evil Requiem
- Ghost of Yōtei
- Ninja Gaiden 4
- The Outer Worlds 2
- Silent Hill f
- World of Warcraft: Midnight
Alongside the games shown, Prime Video will show a new look at Fallout Season 2, which will premiere at December 2025. A music performance dedicated to Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 will also take place. Companies such as 2K, Bandai Namco, Bethesda, Blizzard Entertainment, Capcom, CD PROJEKT RED, Disney+, Electronic Arts, and Konami will be present during the event.
Krafton, LEGO, Nintendo, SEGA, The Pokémon Company, Ubisoft, and Xbox are among the exhibitors that will also be in attendance. Xbox’s booth in particular will feature Hollow Knight: Silksong and the Indiana Jones and the Great Circle – The Order of Giants Story DLC, among others, so there may be some announcements related to those games as well.
