The Pokémon Company announced that Mega Evolution is coming to Pokémon TCG Pocket alongside a new season this fall. The Pokémon TCG Pocket Mega Evolution trailer confirms that Mega Altaria, Mega Gyarados, and Mega Blaziken will be among the Pokémon featured in the update as well.
Previously, the Pokémon TCG Pocket Wisdom of Sea and Sky expansion was released on July 30. The expansion brought beloved Pokémon native to the Johto region, as seen in the Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver video games. These Pokémon include Chikorita, Cyndaquil and Totodile, as well as the Legendary Pokémon Lugia and Ho-Oh. In addition, Pokémon with attacks that don’t require Energy made their debut, giving players more deck building and battling options.
The expansion was accompanied by a new trade feature update. The update introduced a wishlist feature, allowing Pokémon TCG Pocket players to share which cards they would like to trade for with others. Players can navigate their wishlists from the My Cards screen, where they’re able to add up to 20 cards and highlight three cards from their wishlist to display on their profiles.
Trade tokens were discontinued, so players no longer need to exchange cards to obtain trade tokens. However, shinedust will be required to trade cards of ♦♦♦, ♦♦♦♦ and ★ rarities. Players can acquire shinedust by completing in-game missions and achievements or by obtaining duplicate cards. Players can exchange trade tokens they own for pack hourglasses and shinedust in the in-game shop.
