NCSOFT announced BigFire Games’ new MMO tactical shooter Project LLL has been officially titled CINDER CITY. CINDER CITY is currently in development for PC and console, and NCSOFT launched the game’s official website, X (formerly Twitter) account, Facebook page, and YouTube channel.
Built in Unreal Engine 5, CINDER CITY features a seamless open world set in a world where “23rd century future technology coexists with the 21st century present. Players will explore a “devastated futuristic Seoul” modeled after real-life districts like Samseong-don and Nonhyeon-dong. The game will also feature realistic combat mechanics and firearm operating principles.
Previously, NCSOFT confirmed that development of action adventure game Project M and live-service multiplayer action game Battle Crush have ceased as of November 2024. NCSOFT refocused its resources with the formation of four new subsidiaries to develop Throne and Liberty, CINDER CITY, TACTAN, and NCSOFT’s proprietary AI technology. A rumored Horizon game by NCSOFT was also reportedly canceled.
Seeder Jaehyun Bae previously commented on LLL’s development: “You can immerse yourself in the open world, wielding a wide array of weapons and skill combinations. This is the unique feature of LLL, offering players an unparalleled shooting game experience.”
In November 2023, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced that they entered into a partnership with NCSOFT. The collaboration will be focused on “various global business fields, including mobile.”
