The Pokémon Company has announced that, just in time for Pokémon GO Fest 2025: Max Finale, Gigantamax battles will support 100 players. The update will be available in Pokémon GO on August 23.

According to a blog post, in Gigantamax Battles, trainers will be split into four or fewer groups in their individual Max Battles. They’ll be able to take on Gigantamax Pokémon, and even Eternamax Eternatus, as more total Trainers in the lobby will result in a greater chance of success. The update will remain in effect after the end of Pokémon GO Fest 2025: Max Finale.

During the event, trainers will receive multiple bonuses throughout the event. This includes increased Max Particle limits, 2x Catch Candy, 2x Candy XL chance, and more. Further, when Max Finale begins, Eternamax Eternatus will take over Power Spots. Every Gigantamax Pokémon seen in Pokémon GO will also be spotlighted in hour-long timeframes throughout the weekend.

Recently, The Pokémon Company announced a new event for Pokémon GO, titled Sunkissed Shores. The event will start on August 25 and feature the debut of Dondozo, the Catfish Pokémon. It will last until August 31 and feature double XP for winning Raid Battles as an event bonus. There’s also Paid Timed Research for $1.99, which includes 4,000 XP, 3,000 Stardust, Pinap Berry Bag avatar item, and more. Further, the following wild Pokémon will be available to encounter:
