Limited Run Games has announced a re-release of DOOM for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, playable on an original SNES cartridge. Pre-orders will open on July 11.

The cartridge includes all four episodes of DOOM, including “Thy Flesh Consumed,” as well as circle-strafe, performance updates, and several quality-of life updates. Both a standard and collector’s edition will release. The standard version will cost $99.99 and includes a retro box, instruction booklet, and a 12×16 inch poster. The collector’s edition costs $174.99 and features the aforementioned items alongside a premium embossed foil box. The game will also support rumble via a new SNES Rumble Controller, which will also be available to pre-order from LRG on July 11.

Limited Run Games describes the DOOM re-release on SNES as follows:

The new. The improved. The DEFINITIVE DOOM SNES experience!

All 4 DOOM episodes, including Thy Flesh Consumed, added circle-strafe, Performance improvements, Monster respawning on Nightmare difficulty, Level codes, and Rumble support via an all-new controller!

Welcome to Doom, soldier. Now shut up and start fighting because there’s no time to waste! We’re talking total war against the forces of evil, with the only thing standing between civilization and the end of everything as we know it is you – one angry Marine with a handgun and a bad attitude. This is the full-auto, 16-meg faithful version of the PC original. Which means all the same monsters, levels, weapons, and surprises are around for a screaming fast descent into danger with sudden death lurking around every corner. Strap on your ammo and prepare to spit lead. Because now’s your chance to be a hero.
