Bandai Namco Entertainment announced the One Piece anime series is teaming up with the Los Angeles Lakers for a game night collab on February 28, as the Lakers take on the Clippers at the Crypto.com Arena.
The One Piece and Los Angeles Lakers game night collab will feature experiences themed after the anime, including a first look at an animation of Luffy playing basketball. Lakers-inspired visuals of all 10 Straw Hat Pirates will be released on social media to celebrate the game. Moreover, fans in attendance will receive a limited-edition Lakers x One Piece t-shirt and a poster featuring newly revealed artwork of the crew in Lakers’ purple and gold.
Fans at the game may head to the One Piece Bounty Rush photo booth on the main concourse inside the Crypto.com Arena. Moreover, fans will be selected at random to compete for prizes in a special on-court One Piece game.
Fans can also look forward to the release of One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. In addition, more DLC content for the game is now in development. New DLC is being planned, and new characters will be determined by a user survey, which is available now in both English and Japanese.
The One Piece anime will return on April 6 on a new evening timeslot. New episodes will premiere at 11:15 p.m. JST on Saturdays on Fuji TV and affiliate channels. Subaru Kimura will be taking over the role of Franky in the One Piece anime. He will be replacing longtime voice actor Kazuki Yao, who’s graduated from the role of Franky.
